Autumn is my favorite season! The leaves start to turn and there is a wonderful chill in the air that hints of colder days to come…so in hommage of the season I have created a fall window of vintage trinkets and treasures amid paper leaves and French skeleton keys.

Also this week we will be adding new treasures that will include 1920’s miniature framed prints $16-24 ea, jewelry made with French medals that start at $24 for earrings as well as a sneak peak at my new collection of found object ornaments that will range in price from $10-18 each.

We can’t wait to see you all soon and in the meantime I will raise a glass of hot apple cider to the season.

After a restful August we are ready to open up The Curious Nest for Fall!!! And we received our box of French antiques just in time to open up shop tomorrow with all kinds of new goodies. I have attached pictures of some of the new pieces my favorite of which is the bronze and onyx triptych holy water font from Lourdes, the collection of Joan of Arc pieces including the truly gorgeous little box (it is silk lined) and the dance cards. We also have in a wonderful collection of old new stock religious medals that have matches (great for making earrings) that are $8 each as well as the largest collection of blue medals that we have had in quite some time including the light blue champlevé enamel $12-$24 each and some gorgeous antique enamel crosses many with the sacred heart image. Also the two small domed glass sacred hearts and pretty fantastic as are the matching domed glass Madonna and Jesus. And soooo much more! We will have everything priced and set out tomorrow and hope to see you all soon.

Also I will be bringing in several new pieces of artwork by Debbie Savar tomorrow and I am working on a collection of jewelry for mid-September inspired by Hawaii! We look forward to being back in our little nest of treasures and seeing all of you whom we missed while closed last month!

I managed to make one last collection of jewels for summer before we close up shop from Aug 8th-Aug 31^st for a little R&R.

But we will still be open for the next two weeks and I had a creative urge to make a few new pieces that I thought would be perfect for when the sun decides to shine on our fair city! I have been making shell jewelry for years and it was always a big seller with my French clients when I lived in France. The little tiny shells that I used in this collection all have natural holes and I collected them off the beach in the south of France many years ago and have stored them as preciously as I do my gems. They are like little magical tide pools filled with gems and it makes me so happy to work with them! I think I would have loved to have been a mermaid.

 I will have them in the shop starting this Thursday and in addition to the little shells we also got a really big soap delivery from Circle Creek Home!!! We got in Lavender, Lemongrass, Sweet Orange & Clove, Rosemary Mint, Citrus Lime Zip, Lemon Verbana and The Gardener’s Scrub so if you want to stock up now is a great time since we have all the scents in and fresh off the drying racks…it all smells so lovely!

I have just finished this collection of jewelry for summer!

It all started last week when I found an antique 1920s dictionary that had really interesting illustrations that just happened to fit perfectly on old bone game pieces from France…and once I started I couldn’t seem to stop and the hence the one piece of jewelry became a collection of curiosities. I even put together a fun display at the shop with an antique cabinet. These are all one of a kind so if anything catches your eye do feel free to contact me for availability and also the paper is sealed with a special epoxy/resin glaze that makes it all safe to wear rain or shine!!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and the Curious Nest is open for the next two weeks and then we will close from August 8^th until Aug 31^st (in true French tradition) and will re-open September 1^st for fall. Enjoy the new pieces!

We just got a box from France of antiques!!! There are over a hundred antique French religious medals from $6 and up and some of  them are quite unusual including several small relics and other devotional pieces.

Also old armoire keys, antique magazines, dance cards, holy water fonts, an amazing micro mosaic cross and all kinds of other treasures! We will have everything in the shop starting tomorrow.

I am also hoping to get a delivery of Circle Creek Soap this weekend and I am working on a few flower inspired earrings and necklaces for casual summer wear…hope to see you soon and in the meantime we wish you a very happy summer!!!

I am so excited to send this email out because the Curious Nest has never been so full of fabulous treasures as it is right now!!! The boxes from France have almost all come in and we have filled every nook and cranny in the shop  I have attached some pictures of the overall but there is so much more than we haven’t even put out yet like the most beautiful micro mosaic pin I have ever seen in 18k, an illuminated prayer book from 1696, holy water fonts, sculptures, medals, enamelware and all kinds of other wonders. I was so excited to get two amazing boxes of antiques from France this week that Laurent just sent me! There are so many wonderful treasures and more to come in the next few weeks but here is a sneak peak at some of my favorites. I adore 19th century holy water fonts with the carved stone scultures under domed glass and we now have three new ones in including a St. Bernadette, St. Joseph and child and a child shepard and lamb. We also have more antique medals, rosaries, relics and missels.

Another one of my favorite things we got in are the antique tarot cards, old tins, antique books and soon I will put up a post of all the uncirculated early 1900s French perfume labels that we just got as well. But in the meantime here are a few of the pieces I will be putting out in the shop tomorrow! 

I just finished a new collection of vintage French medal jewelry right in time for Easter! All of the necklaces range in price from $55-$120 and the earrings are from $18-$58 and I will have all of them in the Curious Nest starting tomorrow. I also made a few pins as well including one amazing blue medal one for $130 and 3 smaller sterling safety pins for $34 each. So come take a peak!

In addition to the new jewelry I have also added a few small gift ideas including Debbie Savar large candles $14ea, antique French holy cards $3 ea and a variety of small French onyx plaques $30-$90. Also two sets of vintage Beatrix Potter books from the 1930s-1940s in the box set $90 per 6 book set. Spring is full of inspiration for me with all the trees filling up with leaves and the flowers pushing their way back into the world! So here are some fun cluster earrings I just finished with spring in mind. The mother of pearl bells are vintage and were a gift from a sweet friend and I wanted to use interesting organic shapes with the pearls and other nugget stones to create a very natural feeling to the whole. So enjoy and I will have them in the shop starting on Thursday if you want to try them on for a new spring outfit!
